BR 86. 1987

The BR 86 is unique in several aspects. It is one of the largest pot boiler locomotives that has been produced in our scales/gauges and uses a vaporiing burner (instead of wick tubes) that is not often seen. It borrows the external slip eccentric gear from the Schools/King Arthur models, and was also available in the Dr. Zhivago (sp?) gray paint scheme. For whatever reason the paint on these gray models is always in poor shape... the alcohol fumes must play havoc with the paint job.
