A DIESEL you say? This locomotive is worthy of considerable inspection by those of us engaged in live steam for the mechanical interest and relation to the prototype that our live steamers represent. This GP9 is powered by a diesel engine (model helicopter engine) that drives a generator. The output of the generator is controlled by an electronic speed control (R/C) that drives DC motors on all four axles. An extremely unique locomotive available through Potomac Steam Industries.
